Venezuela, MEEI, NGC, and bpTT Discuss Manakin/Cocuina

(Energy Analytics Institute, 14.Mar.2024) — Parties from Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela met in Caracas, Venezuela on 13 Mar. 2024 to commence engagement, discussions and negotiations related to the cross border Manakin/ Cocuina hydrocarbon field. 

The presentations and discussions including the exchange of technical information and negotiation of legal terms and conditions advances the intended project of developing this hydrocarbon field, Stuart Young, the head of Trinidad and Tobago’s Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI) wrote 13 Mar. in a post on LinkedIn.

Young led a Trinidad delegation to Caracas comprising of the Permanent Secretary of the MEEI, Ms. Penelope Bradshaw-Niles and other key personnel of the ministry, executives of NGC and a team from bp led by Mr. David Campbell, President of bpTT LLC to engage with teams of Venezuela’s Petroleum Ministry under the leadership of Minister Rafael Tellechea and Vice Minister Juan Santana.

“We continue to work assiduously to ensure the future of Trinidad and Tobago,” Young said.
