Brazil’s ANP Opens Permanent Bid Round for 11 Offshore Blocks

(Energy Analytics Institute, 17.Aug.2022) — Brazil’s National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP) published details 17 August 2022 in the South American country’s Official Gazette (DOU) regarding the timeline for the 1st Permanent Cycle bid round for 11 crude oil and natural gas exploration blocks under a production sharing regime.

The 11 blocks are located in the Santos and Campos basins offshore Brazil in the so-called pre-salt polygon, Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy announced 17 August in a statement on its website, citing details from the ANP.

The blocks in the Santos Basin include: Agata, Bumerangue, Cruzeiro do Sul, Esmeralda, Jade, Sudoeste Sagitario and Tupinamba.

The blocks in the Campos Basin include: Agua Marinha, Itaimbezinho, Norte de Brava and Turmalina.

Interested companies have until 24 August to complete registration forms, deliver documents and pay participation fees. Later this year a public session for the presentation of offers will take place on 16 December, the ministry said.
