(Energy Analytics Institute, Jared Yamin, 19.May.2017) â In recent weeks, a reported 66 companies in Venezuela dedicated to the collection of milk have closed their doors and stopped distribution activities due to problems receiving fuel, reported the daily newspaper El Nacional, citing Leonardo Figueroa, president of the Ranchers Association of TĂĄchira state.
“We don’t have gas-oil or gasoline,â said Figueroa during an interview with Union Radio. âTransport operations are paralyzed and if the situation isn’t resolved soon it could cause a crisis worse than what we are living due to the scarcity [of just fuel].” TĂĄchira state is a major producer of milk in Venezuela, he added.
