Iranian Tanker Fortune Docks In Puerto Cabello

(Energy Analytics Institute, Piero Stewart, 25.May.2020) — The Fortune Iranian fuel tanker reached Pier 4 of PDVSA’s El Palito Refinery located in Puerto Cabello in Carabobo state, announced Venezuela’s Economy Vice President Tareck El Aissami.

The ship’s crew was welcomed by the Venezuelan official together with Iran’s Ambassador in Venezuela, Hojjatollah Soltani; Venezuela’s Defense Minister Chief General Vladimir Padrino López; Venezuela’s Admiral in Chief Remigio Ceballos; PDVSA President Asdrúbal Chávez and Carabobo Governor Rafael Lacava.

“The Fortune tanker, the first of five Iranian tankers to arrive in Venezuela loaded with gasoline, is a symbol of brotherhood and solidarity between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” state oil company Petroleos de Venezuela announced 25 May 2020 in an official statement.

The four other tankers are still on their way to Venezuela, the statement said.

“We are not going to kneel before any power. We are a rebellious people, a Caribbean people, full of glories,” El Aissami assured.
