PEMEX Concludes Working Sessions with Suppliers

(PEMEX, 23.May.2024)  — The CEO of Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), Octavio Romero Oropeza, concluded a three-day round of working sessions held in Villa Hermosa, Tabasco, and in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, where he engaged in a direct dialogue with suppliers and contractors who maintain commercial relations with the country’s most important institution.

During this last discussion with businessmen, CFO Carlos Cortez González, said that payments are scheduled to be made in the order of 70bn pesos during the month of May, with 16.8bn pesos having been paid to date. These payments are expected to be distributed through 79,200 banking operations.

Romero Oropeza mentioned that, according to estimates and projections, efforts will be made to maintain significant payment levels during the months of June, July and August. The above, in order to normalize the situation before the end of the current administration. He concluded by pointing out that today PEMEX has a lower debt and a higher value.

In an atmosphere of congeniality and trust, the PEMEX CEO described the competitive market environment and PEMEX’s growth expectations. An exchange of opinions took place and he addressed the concerns of suppliers and contractors.

At the meetings, which were held on 21-23 May 2024 at the PEMEX Administrative Technical Center (CTA) in Villahermosa, Tabasco, and on 22 May at PEMEX’s Administrative Building Playa Norte in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, were attended by representatives from the different regions of the country and the various economic branches that contribute to the oil industry with their products and services.
