Argentina Has Invested $1,220 Million On 30 Projects With 795 MW Capacity

(Energy Analytics Institute, Aaron Simonsky, 28.Feb.2019) — There are already 30 projects that are in commercial operation in Argentina with an installed capacity of 795 megawatts (MW) and registered investments of $1,220 million, Argentina’s Energy Secretariat announced in an official statement.

Additionally, the entity said there are 126 renewable energy projects in development, including those already in commercial operation and those that are currently under construction. These projects represent installed capacity of 4,593 MW, have potential to generate 9,300 new jobs (between construction, operation and maintenance), and will require estimated investments of more than $6,800 million.

TGS Advances With Construction Of Treatment Plant, Gas Pipelines

(Energy Analytics Institute, Aaron Simonsky, 27.Feb.2019) — TGS says work at a natural gas treatment plant in Tratayén has reached the 80% completion mark, while work on a northern leg and a southern leg of Vaca Muerta pipelines to feed the plant have reached the 50% and 80% completion marks, respectively, announced the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry of Neuquen in an official statement. The treatment plant will process 60 million cubic meters per day (MMcm/d) of natural gas while the pipelines will have capacity to transport 37 MMcm/d and 19 MMcm/d, respectively.

MEGSA Auction Awards Gas Supply To Ancap

The winning bid was for the shipment of 400,000 cubic meters per day of natural gas at a price of $3.77/MMbtu.

Argentina’s IEASA Holds Tender For 12 LNG Shipments

It’s estimated the South American country will need to import between 30 and 35 shipments in 2019 compared to 50 in 2018, reported online media EconoJournal.

The LNG imports will dock at the Escobar regasification terminal in the province of Buenos Aires.
