IEnova Comments On Contract With Mexico’s CFE, and Its Employees

(IEnova, 11.Feb.2019) — Infraestructura Energética Nova (IEnova) clarifies the following regarding its natural gas pipelines in Mexico.

  1. IEnova is a Mexican company that has operated in the market for 22 years. It has generated more than 40,000 direct and indirect jobs and provided service to more than 500,000 Mexican consumers in 17 states across the country. In all of its operations, IEnova has strictly adhered to the law and absolute ethics and integrity.
  2. All of IEnova’s natural gas transport pipelines with CFE were awarded through open, transparent, international public bid processes, according to international industry standards.
  3. IEnova has a gas pipeline that entered into operation in May 2017. However, service to CFE was interrupted when the pipeline suffered acts of sabotage in August 2017. These facts were reported to federal and local authorities.
  4. Carlos Ruiz Sacristán, Executive President and Chairman of the Board of IEnova, was a public employee for 24 years. During this time, he was CEO of Pemex for only 28 days in December 1994. This was the last time that Mr. Ruiz participated in the energy sector as a public employee. His last position in the public sector ended in December 2000. Carlos Ruiz has been an employee of IEnova since 2012. In his professional career in both the public and private sectors, he has conducted himself ethically, honestly, and transparently.
