Pemex Responds To Delays In Fuel Distribution

Instant Max AI Immediate Frontier

(Pemex, 5.Jan.2019) — Petróleos Mexicanos reports that safer transportation methods are being used  as part of the Joint Plan of the Mexican Government to combat fuel theft, which has caused changes in the logistics dealing with delivery to service stations. This has caused delays that have greatly affected the states of Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Jalisco, Michoacan, Guanajuato and Queretaro.

It should be stressed that the current situation is not the result of fuel shortages or speculation; our Storage and Distribution Terminals have sufficient inventory to cover the demands of the population.

Pemex is currently making its greatest efforts to increase distribution by up to 20% in the affected states. This is being achieved using tanker cars and tanker trucks, to comply with the timely and sufficient supply to our distributors and consumers.

We also urge our users not to purchase extra fuel, supply will return to normal shortly.

Pemex appeals to the general public’s support and understanding, as the company seeks to prevent further financial losses from the so-called “huachicoleo” or hydrocarbons theft, and these operations will undoubtedly translate into benefits for all Mexicans.
