(Energy Analytics Institute, Ian Silverman, 6.Dec.2018) — Investments of $8.17 billion in the last 12 years have allowed Bolivia to discover 17 fields and six hydrocarbon reservoirs.

The investments and discoveries allowed Bolivia to replace 8.1 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas, reported online media La Razón, citing Bolivia’s Deputy Minister for the Exploration and Exploitation of Hydrocarbons Carlos Torrico.

“Hydrocarbon reserves were certified at 10.7 Tcf, which means that reserves consumed during these 12 years were replaced,” said Torrico. “Without replacement of these reserves, we would only have 0.92 Tcf.”

Field discoveries of note include: Huacaya, El Dorado, Incahuasi, Aquío,Colorado, Junín Este, Curiche, Boquerón Norte, Colorado Sur and Los Sauces Sur, the media reported.
