(Energía16, 30.Nov.2017) — Bolivia began exporting granulated urea to Brazil.

Approximately 65 percent of the country’s urea production comes from YPFB’s Bulo Bulo plant, in Cochamba.

Bolivia’s first delivery will be 40,000 tons of its overall 335,000 ton-production of granulated urea, which will be transported in trucks.

President Evo Morales was present at the launching event, along with the YPFB Chairman.

Also at the event was Oscar Barriga Arteaga, who stated that “335,000 tons a year accounts for about 65 percent of the production.”

The first convoy containing Bolivian urea arrived yesterday and was received at the Gravetal storage plant in Puerto Quijaarro and sent to the dispatch area.

Bolivia intends to supply the Paraguay, northern Argentina, and Peru markets, which it may accomplish with the additional exports of this fertilizer, managed through ongoing processes.

“We have surpassed the 5,000 tons in the domestic market, and this figure will continue to rise since YPFB is opening offices in different commercial districts.”

The company will inaugurate another office next week, which is set to be its sales outlet for the north of Santa Cruz and later plans on opening sales points in La Paz, Cochabamba, Tarija, Chuquisaca, Pando, Oruro, and Potosí.
